Position Statement
Current shortage of Canadian training positions for radiation oncologists
The specialty of Radiation Oncology is relatively small but pivotal in the delivery of cancer care services. Acute shortages of manpower adversely affect Canada’s ability to provide radiation therapy. CARO believes that it is extremely important that co-ordinated national radiation oncology manpower planning takes place to ensure that appropriate numbers of specialists are available over the next fifteen years.
