Michael Brundage, MD MSC FRCP(C) is a Professor of Oncology and of Public Health Sciences at Queen’s University at Kingston. He completed his training in Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto and the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, and in Epidemiology at Queen’s University, where he has enjoyed long-standing affiliations with the Canadian Clinical Trials Group and the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario at Kingston General Hospital.

He is currently the Director of Cancer Care and Epidemiology at the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute, where he directs a research program in health services and cancer etiology. His personal research focuses on quality of life measurement (in clinical practice and in clinical trials) and on quality of cancer care, with an emphasis on quality initiatives in radiation oncology. His teaching focuses on education of residents and fellows, and on post-graduate supervision of MSc and PhD students in clinical epidemiology.

In the context of his research portfolio he has had the privilege of working with many national and international organizations. He has been a long-standing member/co-chair of the Quality of Life Endpoint Committee of the Canadian Clinical Trials Group, is the Quality Lead for Radiotherapy at Cancer Care Ontario and a member of the Cancer Quality Council of Ontario. He is the incoming President for the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology, and has held other leadership positions with CARO, the Canadian Partnership for Quality Radiotherapy, the International Society for Quality of Life Research, the Society for Medical Decision Making, and the Canadian Cancer Society, among others. These contributions have afforded him the opportunity to receive several research and teaching awards over the course of his career.
