All For One – Collaborating and Innovating for Person-Centred Care

The CARO-COMP-CAMRT 2018 Joint Scientific Meeting highlighted advances in the field of Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics which led to improvements in the Person-centred care.

Overall conference objectives allowed participants to discuss the advances and future directions on:

• Proton Therapy, from the perspectives of Medical Physicists and Physicians, addressing indications, patient outcomes, technical aspects and cost-benefit analysis.
• Quality control of radiation treatments, exploring and discussing the CPQR new mandate on equitable access to care, patterns of care, patient-reported outcomes, and also challenges related to the peer-review process of radiation therapy.
• Canadian-initiated research by radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists.  Inter-professional collaboration on further improving patient-care.
